Authors of the 20th Century

Right after the end of the Second World War people commenced to believe that the world’s essential principles are simple and coherent . Both world politics and social relations were depending on the principles of development, beneficial changes , confidence in science , understanding , hi-tech innovations , and the potential to explain any phenomenon from a rational point of view . Nevertheless , beginning from the second half of the 60’s, the world began to change and currently , 40 years after , we dwell in a transformed type of reality .
We without any problems note those innovations which are given us by new technology, but we almost never come to realize the fact that there are certain concepts standing behind those technological solutions. The nature of the expected change was at first spotted by those people, who as a rule lived anteceding their time – writers and authors. Among the multiple authors whose books have served for pleasure , there have been a few who have given people a new vision . They have more effectively than others other authors formed and worded fresh thoughts and have in the end done a brand new intelligent and perceptual substantiation of the future. They have noticed problems in the mundane of our lives and have opened a number of problems, which were going on without being noticed . They have helped us to think of the new problems , and sent us new aspirations .
These were the authors who have determined the mindset of the entire generation, which has observed the period of drastic change; change, which was viewed as chaos at the beginning of the 21 first century. They have attracted our attention to the most vital questions of the last era ; those dilemmas , which the humankind , having gone through the global wars and unseen violence , was reluctant to meet . Finally they were formulating the the most topical dilemma “What will our future look like?”

In this work we will name several of the most famous writers of the 20th century. They have all greatly influenced literature of their time, have manifested tendencies and dilemmas which were essential to their society and the period they were living in, and have motivated the audience analyze the running set of moral, having them understand that it is far from being perfect. One of the most exciting angle of their writing is that in mostly they have awake the readers’ interest in books and written works. In this aspect one of the most interesting success stories is that of a famous author John Cheever.

The success of Joan Rowling can be considered unique as she has become the first author in the world to make $1 billion by publishing fairytales. She is currently spending a huge part of her money on charity, battling poverty and illness. The plot of the book was found while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first agreed to print her book, she has awarded her 1500 pounds together with a kind advice — to look for a permanent job. He was doubtful of the idea that the young writer would be able to make money of writing. Joann has proved the opposite - having published a number of exceptional fairytales, she has motivated the so-called non-reading people get back to reading books.

This article is not able to name and more or less accurately list all writers who have made their contribution to the today’s literature. They have been working and presenting ideas exactly into the thoughts of the people, and thus were influencing the future. Thus, as we can see, these writers were not writing for relaxation only, but they were also playing a considerable part in creating the culture and the views of a civilization of the 20th century.
